Suzanne Ii

Suzanne is the Principal Investigator for the study and lead researcher. She conducted most of the interviews as well as analysing the interviews with Áine Kelly and providing research supervision for the project and writing of the topic summaries. Suzanne was awarded her PhD in Addiction Sciences from King’s College London in 2016. She is a Senior Qualitative Researcher within the Medical Sociology & Health Experiences Research Group (MS&HERG), University of Oxford.

Sue Ziebland

Sue is Professor of Medical Sociology and Director of HERG at the University of Oxford. She is Co-Principal Investigator for the study.

Aine Kelly

Áine Kelly is a researcher within the Medical Sociology & Health Experiences Research Group (MS&HERG), University of Oxford. Áine helped recruit participants and analyse the interviews with Suzanne Ii and drafted the majority of the topic summaries.  She was awarded her DPhil in 'Factors associated with the ability of the care system to meet the physical and mental health needs of young people looked after in England' from the University of Oxford in 2022. 

Dr Ala Sirriyeh

Ala is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology, School of Social Sciences, Lancaster University. Ala is a sociologist of migration and race with a primary focus on youth migration, the criminalisation of migration, activism, and emotions. She was awarded her PhD from University of Leeds in 2010. Ala helped recruit and conduct interviews on the study.
