My independence; my choice

I went from staying in hospital to a care home before moving into supported living.

I liked supported living but I was not able to have my independence.

I really wanted to live independently.

So I referred myself to the disability team and there was someone there who was helping someone else move out of supported living and they said they would help me.
But then they did not.

So I had to do it myself.
I waited for the referral to be put in and for all the paperwork to go through.

Finally, I got to choose my own flat.

I got to choose my own life.

I chose my support hours, but whilst I was unwell, my hours were increased.
Now I wonder how they will pay for these extra hours with government cuts.

But, I would like to go back to the hours I had before because I want to have my independence back.

It should be my choice.

It is my independence and I want to it back
